Finding information
Click on any of the trades in the TRADE EXPLORER list on the left of your screen. This will call up a set of titles relating to that trade. You can scroll the list using the arrow keys on the right hand bar. Click on any of the titles shown to call up the information.
For example, click on PAINTING and TRADE EXPLORER will return a list covering everything from 'getting ready to paint' through to 'cleaning out your brushes'.

You may also click on SEARCH and use the facility to find documents matching your request.

Finding your way around this Web site
Throughout the Web site, there are links which enable you to jump from one piece of information to another. These are easily identified as your mouse pointer will change as it passes over any of these. To use the link, simply click on it with the mouse pointer. Many links are also identifiable by arrows and underlined text.
At the bottom of each page, you will see links like this which take you to a related topic or a continuation sheet.

Moving back through the information
At the very top of your screen is the menu bar for the 'browser'. This is your programme which allows you to view Web sites. If you want to step backwards through the pages you've seen, you can use the 'back' button on this menu bar.Of course, once you've done that, you can also use the 'forward' button to step forwards again through the pages.

Changing screen resolution
This web site is best viewed at a resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels.
If you find that you are unable to see the full width of the pages without scrolling, your resolution is lower than this.
With Windows XP, you can easily change the resolution.
Other versions of Windows and other operating systems may vary - check your manual for details.
Exit all applications.
From the ‘Start’ button, choose ‘Control Panel’, then ‘Display’. Double click on ‘Display’, and choose the ‘Settings’ tab.
Make a note of the current settings for screen and desktop.
Using the slider control for ‘screen', drag the pointer to 800 x 600, and click OK.
You will then receive a message with the option to OK or Cancel.
Click OK.
Your settings will then be changed and another message will ask if you wish to keep these. If everything looks OK, click yes. If you don’t answer, the settings will automatically be reverted after a few seconds.
Should you wish to return to your old settings at any time, simply repeat the procedure, sliding the pointers for both screen and desktop back to the original figures, which you noted earlier.

If you get lost
The left and top areas of your screen will stay with you throughout your journey. So, at any time, you have the facility to go to any part of the Web site without wading through menu after menu.
