Arguing about DIY Jobs

A study by eSure has found that couples can spend up to 40 minutes a day arguing about household chores. Not doing DIY jobs or doing a botched DIY job was high on the list of concerns, particularly for women.

25% of those questioned said that putting off DIY jobs was one of their main bugbears, coming in second to not picking up clothes. One in seven of those questioned admitted that they will tell lies to explain why they haven't completed household jobs, with men often claiming that old aches and pains are causing them problems. Of those complaining about DIY, 59% were women. Mike Pickard from eSure points out that putting off home improvements or leaving DIY jobs half done can result in huge bills, insurance payouts and damage to the home. It can also lead to damage to the marriage!
