B&Q is trying to recapture some of its dwindling sales by launching a new free next day delivery service on hundreds of their bulk items.
From March 7 anyone who is embarking on a large DIY project will be able to take advantage of the service as long as they are spending more than £250 in one transaction.
Materials such as gravel, insulation, timber, plasterboard, paving slabs, bricks and more will be delivered the next day by Burdens, a supplier of civil engineering materials. Customers can also choose a date for delivery which suits them.
James Mackenzie the Director of Building at B&Q has commented that the service will make life easier for anyone who is doing a large building job at their home. In particular it is perfect for anyone who has forgotten to order something or who has made a last minute decision to have the work completed. Anyone who wants to take advantage of buying in bulk can also have free delivery and this can save on the cost of any building work being done.
