B&Q have launched their Decorate for Less campaign today in an effort to get people to do a spot of DIY, even if they don't think they can afford it.
The retailer has been experiencing a difficult time over the last year, with profits falling in the sector despite increases elsewhere in retail. To combat these figures, they have revealed the results of their price checker, which compared the prices of their goods with their competitors. They found that 90% of those goods checked were cheaper at B&Q than elsewhere.
Advertising which starts today will highlight the independent results which show savings of anything up to 35% on basic products like Dulux paints and the Paint Pod, varnish, wallpaper, bathroom sealant and Polycell Magic Fill.
Marketing Director Warren Scarr commented that even though budgets are tight, the spring is a good time to take advantage of the cheaper products and decorate for less.
