World’s Most Expensive Kitchen
The most expensive kitchen in the world has been unveiled at the 100% Design Show at Earl's Court this week. The kitchen, made by Colosseo Oro is thought to be worth £300,000. The designer is Paul Marazzi.
Just ten examples of the kitchen will be made and will have features such as 24 carat gold leaf, embossed leather, Venetian glass and Swarovski crystal lights. Each kitchen will also have glitter lacquered worktops. The design is based around a central hub which contains the cooker and fridge. The circular workstation is then surrounded by a breakfast bar – all in a finish with 12 layers of lacquer.
But it isn't just the look of the kitchen which contributes to the cost. The appliances are the best available. One tap which is designed by an architect will cost £6,000 and other appliances will cost a total of £55,000.
Marazzi says that the design is aimed at those at the upper end of the market and is based on the social atmosphere around food. Anyone who wishes to invest in the kitchen will have it customised to meet their requirements.
