Pliers have a toothed jaw for gripping fixings. There is usually also a curved jaw on the side for gripping objects. Pincers are primarily for gripping fixings and enabling them to be removed - some have a small claw at the end of the handle giving additional leverage on fixings. Tin snips and cutters are available for cutting and trimming specific materials including metals.
